Future proofing The New School
With our exciting new start comes the responsibility of maintaining The New School for subsequent generations.
The New School provides a new direction for education – harnessing young people’s innate ability to learn by creating a truly inclusive and empowering learning environment. We firmly believe by giving each young person a voice and, above all, a choice in how they are educated is the best way to maximise their potential.
We are grateful to be in the positive position of having our first years’ funding covered but we must look further ahead and work collaboratively and creatively together as a community to make our vision a sustainable reality. We know that many families feel incredibly fortunate to have secured a place for their child at The New School and we are delighted to welcome all our new young people to our inclusive and supportive school community. However, we want every child to have this opportunity.
For this reason, we are on a mission to positively change the way we educate our children in the UK but it is only with your support that we can make this happen. With this in mind, we are asking those families and supporters who can afford to do so, to consider making a contribution to help ensure that our school is here for its community long into the future so we can give every young person the chance of a better education.
If twenty families or supporters were able to give just £20 a month, plus Gift Aid (which adds a further 25% at no extra cost to you) through Donate My School, this would generate around £6,000 funding for the year ahead. This would help considerably with our ability to plan and ensure every young person is given the opportunity to find their voice, confidence and explore their self-identity - because The New School is not simply a school. Our existence is proof that a different type of education is possible; it can empower young people, be inclusive, personalised, caring and deliver great outcomes. However, challenging the education system is hard and we cannot do this alone. To achieve this vision, we need to work together AND we need your support.
All donations will be used to fund experiences and opportunities that connect young people to their local community, developing vital skills and knowledge, and building awareness and understanding about our new type of education.
Why online crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding is a great way to hit a fundraising target through a group of people all coming together to put funds into the same pot and encouraging others to do the same. The larger the group or ‘crowd’ formed, the more money we raise so the key to any crowdfunding appeal is getting the message out there via all of our social networks.
Please help us to make this possible by donating as much as you can and please pass on the appeal details on your own social media network to family, friends and your other contacts to help spread our message. Every single donation really will help in our mission to create a more inclusive, fair, and positive learning environment for all young people.
Our first aim is to enhance our creative curriculum, specifically our music tuition and technology. This will help our young people develop their skills in, and enjoyment of, music technology, analysis, composition and performance.
Please join our mission today and set up a regular donation. You can choose how much to donate each month, depending on what you can afford, and we can also claim Gift Aid on your donation, boosting each one by 25% at no extra cost to you.
Of course, regular giving may not suit everyone, so if you prefer, you can choose to make a one-off donation to help fund our future. After donating, please do sign up to hear directly from us about our new plans and development milestones and ways to get involved as we build this amazing new community together.
Thank you for joining us and your generous support. Every gift is gratefully received.
