Creativity in schools

Admiral Lord Nelson School (ALNS) was named TES’s Creative School of the Year, due to their ‘thinking outside of the box approach’. At The New School, creativity be also engrained within every aspect of our learning environment and will be a key part of our students’ educational journey.

Would we need to boost creativity, if it wasn’t squashed out of a system in the first place?  Aren’t young children naturally curious, creative, and experimental?  It’s great that schools are reflecting on this, but we believe if we focus on young people’s sense of agency and their voice and choice in their education, we wouldn’t need to ‘boost creativity’, it would be a natural part of a school environment.
